I hate the dentist,
not my actual dentist I love her I just hate having to go to the dentist. A tooth ache is probably the most painful
thing a human can go through, well maybe not the most painful, but certainly
worse than my c-sections, in my opinion anyway. I guess I’ve had just too many dentist visits,
way too many root canals, too many teeth being pulled, and my fair share of
oral surgery.
So, when ModernMom.com and Oral B gave me the chance to review the Oral-B® Professional Precision™ 1000
electronic toothbrush I literally jumped at it – if there is a tool out there
that will get me to a place of great oral health, I needed to check it
out. I was nervous and hesitant to try
such a sophisticated tooth brush, I’ve been using the standard toothbrush for
so long, I really didn’t know what to expect, and since I’m not a fan of the dentist
and I didn’t want my first experience to be real clinical or use a too technical toothbrush.
I have to be honest; I was a little skeptic, especially after thoroughly
reading the directions, twice! The warnings of possible bleeding gum, and that
the toothbrush was going to “signal” me and basically tell me what to do -
to switch to another quadrant of your mouth, I didn’t believe it or think there would be any
way I could distinguish the sounds of the motor on this toothbrush, and truth
be told, I didn’t think I’d feel the change of the brush rotating either.
BUT I WAS WRONG!
This toothbrush is fantastic! Using
the toothbrush is easy, the instructions are based on the dentist recommendations that you should brush
for 2 minutes, which equals 30 seconds of brushing for each quadrant of your
mouth; the toothbrush actually hesitates a little to signal you that it’s time
to brush the next quadrant, and you can actually feel the pulse of the toothbrush
change, these signals are great because most times I brush in the shower to
save time, and sometimes I’m in la-la land, so when I felt the pulsating of brush
change, I knew it was time to brush another quadrant of my mouth. In the shower or out I was able to easily distinguish
when to move to the next section of my mouth, I really couldn’t believe how
easy this toothbrush is to use! The
motor is not too loud, and the head of the toothbrush is a smaller than what I
am normally use to but the way the head rotates and pulsates it actually takes
the plaque off your teeth and whisks it away, giving you a far better clean
than a traditional toothbrush.
The charger/recharger base is a small unit that can easily fit on a sink counter, or in a medicine cabinet, it hardly takes up any room, which is great, especially with my limited space. I loved that a warning light lets you know when your battery is starting to fade, although the directions are comprehensive, the toothbrush is really easy to use, it’s also easy to handle, and not heavy at all, it’s basically dummy proof!

With every brush I feel like my teeth are as clean as they are when
I get out of the dentist hygienist chair, which is the best feeling ever! I
absolutely love it, and I am buying this for my husband for one of his
Christmas presents.....sshhhh don't tell him! And yes, I'm actually thinking of Christmas!
Thanks Oral-B and ModernMom!

After the 5K I just forked over to my dentist for a mouth ful of work, I think I may switch :)
